Prepare for Your Next Big Challenge with a Mountain Training Day

Our mountain training days are designed specifically to complement training for adventure challenges such as the UK 3 Peaks or the Welsh 3000s. The days will allow challengers to test out their boots, equipment and most importantly their legs!

The mountain training days are held in the Brecon Beacons in Wales. After a briefing on the route and the equipment, the training day will involve about 6-7 hours walking- ideal for testing and improving your mountain fitness without being as tough as the bigger challenge you may be preparing for. At the end of the day the mountain leaders will give individual de-briefs and a personal action plan for further training.

These mountain fitness training days are well worth it for all adventure challengers and we would recommend them for all those who are attempting either the UK 3 Peaks or the Welsh 3000s. These days, however, do not necessarily need to be undertaken solely by those training for a large mountaineering challenge, being also suitable for those wishing to just try mountain walking for the day or to improve fitness with a view to possibly undertaking a larger mountain challenge in the future.

This Mountain Training Day will cover:

  • Mountain safety briefing
  • Access and conservation
  • Adventure Equipment
  • Emergency equipment
  • Emergency procedures
  • 6-7hrs guided mountain walking
  • Personal fitness de-brief and action plan
  • Basic navigation skills
