The river and it’s surrounding area is home to some truly spectacular scenery including the dramatic chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters, which is also very popular amongst walkers. Just upstream from here we will be taking a small tidal river that cuts through one of the most beautiful valleys in the South Downs! As the river meanders through Cuckmere Valley you’ll be passing through quaintly picturesque villages and witnessing stunning views of the South Downs including the sights of the White Horse of Litlington, a chalk silhouette that dominates the east bank of the valley. There is also plenty of wildlife to be spotted as you explore the river...you may even be lucky and spot an otter or a mink!
The trip will be adapted to meet the ability of the group, no matter how much experience you have we can cater for complete beginners to expert paddlers. If you have any reservations about getting out on the water our highly qualified instructors will assist you and give you confidence throughout the trip.
Why not have a look at the other kayaking river trips available...the River Arun, the River Medway and the River Ouse. Most rivers are tidal, meaning we can only paddle them on certain dates and times, please contact us to find out more.

All kayaking and safety equipment is supplied including:
For all kayaking courses you must have extra warm clothes and waterproofs, we will provide you with a full kit list upon booking.
The above list is just a guide and appropriate clothing for the time of year should be worn. We highly recommend you have a dry bag for all your kit on the water and to put your wet clothing in at the end of the day.
*Clothing should comprise several layers to trap the warmth. Please do not wear denim as it restricts movement, is cold when wet and is slow to dry. You must wear footwear whilst kayaking (old trainers, plimsolls) please don’t wear sandals. Wetsuits are not required as they only work when they are wet; if you wish to bring a wetsuit we still recommend you have a warm top.
Take a look at our online shop for any equipment you might want for your outdoor adventures. We stock a variety of equipment and can give expert advice if you have any queries. Choose to collect your order on a course (free of charge) and your instructor will have it ready and waiting for you when you arrive.
