We all hold a charity or cause close to our hearts. Nowadays there are so many options for fundraising and charity abseiling is one of them.
Whether you've tried abseiling before or are a complete novice, a charity abseil is the perfect opportunity to have an adventure and face your fears whilst raising that much needed cash and recognition for your favourite charity.
The great thing about abseiling for charity is that unlike many other charity events, it can be undertaken by people of all ages and abilities meaning that nobody is left out and everybody gets to play their part in fundraising.
If this is your first time organising a charity abseil, read our "How to Organise a Charity Abseil" blog post to get started.
Below is all the information you will need to find out about charity abseils with Hatt Adventures.

Organising a charity abseil event with us is easy. All you have to do is follow the steps below:
This is the fun part of organising an abseil because your options are so diverse. You can be as creative as you like. Potential venues could include famous buildings, churches, bridges, towers or arches.
Due to high demand we are unable to find a venue for you, but we are able to provide you with detailed information including helpful advice and tips (please ask us for an information sheet.) The Hatt Adventures team are always happy to answer any questions you might have.
Please complete our enquiry form:
Send us photos so we can assess the suitability of your venue:
Please note: we receive a huge amount of photos on a daily basis which clog our emails so please don't email them.
The majority of cases the next step is for us to visit the site in order to write risk assessments and method statements. We will then send you a full break down of costs. The site visit is included in the overall cost of the charity abseil event. Please note that if a site visit is completed and you choose not to run the charity abseil following this, you will still incur the full cost of the site visit (£250 + travel & expenses.)
It's easy to book. Once the site visit is complete and the venue is determined as suitable we will need a 50% deposit with full payment no later than 30 days prior to the start date. The day itself will run as per our method statement.
Charity abseils are always really popular events and you won't find yourself short of willing participants. If required our marketing team can assist with event promotion on our social media channels.
We believe in providing a high quality abseil experience for all participants. We understand that the more people that abseil, the more money your event raises for charity, so we will do our best to get as many people abseiling as possible.
As a rough guide, for a 50ft abseil we can get approximately 10 people abseiling on one rope per hour. For longer abseils you will be looking at 6-8 people per hour.
The number of abseilers able to utilise one rope in an hour and the number of ropes required are dependent upon a number of factors including the abseil length, location and the speed of the abseils. Additional ropes can be set up to cater for large group sizes.
Prices start from as little as £950 and include such things as instructors fees, the use of specialist abseiling equipment, a site visit and a risk assessment.
As a guide, charity abseils normally cost approximately £25-35 per person, which groups usually charge as a registration fee for the event followed by setting up a minimum sponsorship limit for participants to raise. A suggested minimum sponsorship fee is £150 per person.
We will endeavour to keep your costs low so that as much money can be raised for your chosen charity as possible.
Charity abseils have great fundraising potential. Each of our charity abseil events have raised between £6,000 - £25,000 for worthwhile causes.
We will carry out a site visit and risk assessment of your chosen abseiling venue. The site visit is included in the overall cost of the charity abseil event. Please note that if a site visit is completed and you choose not to run the charity abseil following this, you will still incur the full cost of the site visit (£250 + travel & expenses.)
All of our staff are first aid trained and qualified abseiling instructors. Where required our senior instructor will be an MIA or MIC award holder.
We take health and safety very seriously but with common sense in mind. We run a huge range of activities in hazardous environments including providing safety services to the television and film industry.
We hold £5 million public and product liability and £10 million employers liability as standard.
