Their story

Carabiners, swivels, pulleys, rig plates, descenders and rope grabs designed and manufactured in Utah, USA, close to the famous ski resorts and, of course, the climbing in Big and Little Cottonwood canyons. This is Rock Exotica.

Founded by Rock Thompson in his mum’s garage, Rock Exotica embodies everything an independent climbing gear manufacturer should, from sustainability to quality to innovation to passion for outdoor adventure.

Committed to reducing their environmental impact, Rock Exotica products are all mostly recyclable and they will not cut manufacturing costs at the expense of the environment.

Like us, Rock Exotica are a small, independent business borne out of a passion for outdoor adventures and so everything they do comes from the heart. They never compromise on quality, and we use their specialist equipment on our charity abseiling events and for stunt rigging on film sets.
