The UK's only dedicated indoor self rescue course for trad climbers, run in Brighton.

This is the course every trad or multi-pitch climber should do before they need it. Run entirely at our own indoor rescue training facility in Brighton, it teaches the essential rope rescue skills every lead climber and second should know, in a controlled space rather than at the mercy of the weather.

Self rescue skills are best learned without the weather, the walk-in, or the worry of trying something new hundreds of feet up a crag getting in the way. That's why we built our own dedicated indoor rescue training venue (the only one of its kind in the UK). You'll learn exactly the same rope rescue and problem-solving skills you need for outdoor trad and multi-pitch climbing, but in a purpose-built space where you can repeat a technique as many times as it takes to get it right.

Over one day you'll learn how and when to call Mountain Rescue, recap solid multi-point anchors, tie off a belay plate under load, escape the system, hoist your second and how to prusik up and down the rope. These are the foundation skills every other course in our self rescue syllabus builds on.

Because the course runs indoors, it doesn't cover placing traditional protection such as nuts and cams, since our rig uses fixed anchor points rather than natural rock. In exchange you get a weather proof, year round training day, and if you're based in the South East, a much shorter trip than travelling to our usual outdoor venues.
