Whether you're new to boating or looking to gain an International Certificate of Competence (ICC), our RYA Level 2 Powerboat Handling Course is the perfect place to start.

Minimum age: 18 Max weight: 18 stone (115kg). HEALTH ISSUES - Powerboats transmit huge amounts of force to passengers when bouncing up and down waves. While our skippers do their utmost to mitigate this, it is not always possible. - If you have any spinal issues or other muscular skeletal issues, you should NOT TAKE PART.
To take your first steps into the world of powerboating; understand the rules of the road, types of craft, boat handling skills and slow and planing speed, and emergency procedures.
This course is ideal for those with little or no powerboat driving experience. The RYA Level 2 Powerboat Certificate can be used to gain an ICC license which is required for using a powerboat abroad.

The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) is a globally recognised license that proves your ability to operate a boat in many countries. It is often required when chartering or using a boat abroad, particularly in Europe.
If you hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, you can easily apply for an ICC without the need for further assessment. Simply complete an ICC application form through the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and submit it along with a copy of your certificate. The ICC will be issued for vessels up to 10 meters in length and is valid for international use.

For all our powerboat courses we advise you to wear more than you think you’ll need. Being on the water (even on a warm day) combined with high windspeeds means you’ll get cold and probably wet from spray and waves.
We will provide you with a full kit list upon booking.
The above list is just a guide and appropriate clothing for the time of year should be worn.
*Clothing should comprise of several layers to trap the warmth. Please do not wear denim as it restricts movement, is cold when wet and is slow to dry.
**Please wear soft-soled shoes such as trainers; you are not permitted to wear walking boots or footwear with sharp heels etc. as these can damage the tubes of our boat.
