Taking your trad climbing self rescue skills to the next level, indoors in Brighton.
Our Problem Solving course builds on the skills learnt from our Level 1 (Self Rescue for Climbers) course. We improve the skills already learnt and give you new ways to deal with issues and ways to think about rope rescue issues.
You'll move beyond escaping the system at a simple, in-reach anchor and start dealing with situations where the anchor is out of reach, where you need a second method of descent or ascent, and learn how to deal with knots in the rope (joined ropes or isolated damage). Everything is built around scenario based problem solving, so you're working out which technique fits the situation in front of you.
By the end of the day you'll have your first hoists and lowers under your belt too. As with our other indoor courses, this format doesn't cover placing traditional protection, since our rig uses fixed anchor points, but the training day is weather proof and easy to reach from the South East.
What's Covered
