Adventure Days with Hatt Events

What is an Adventure Day?

An adventure day or event is the ideal opportunity to get your team out of the normal working environment and throwing themselves into new and exciting challenges. Being in the great outdoors with colleagues will inspire them to push and encourage each other, building bonds and getting to know each other in the process.

We have a wide range of activities available and we can run anything from one hour courses to multi-activity days and adventure weekends, so rather than sticking to just one activity why not choose your favourites?

Abseiling Adventures

Abseiling Adventures

Abseiling is a quick fire way of getting your team out of the office and into an unusual, challenging and unforgettable position! They will have to rally round each other with words of encouragement, stepping back over the edge to descend down the vertical face! This activity is perfect as an adrenaline filled end to a day's meetings, or a great ice breaker for a new team. Abseiling can easily be incorporated into a number of our other team building events and works particularly effectively when combined with rock climbing.
Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

Our outdoor rock climbing events are designed as a fun introduction to the sport. Your team will be taught how to climb and use all the safety equipment before working together to look after each other and reach for the top! This creates a huge amount of trust and camaraderie between members of the team and is a challenge and fun experience, great for allowing delegates to let their hair down at the end of a long day as a reward for hard work or to motivate and build team spirit within a group. Rock climbing combines brilliantly with abseiling to make a full day event.
Canoeing and Kayaking

Canoeing and Kayaking

Offer your team an adventure by exploring the banks of the river or coast line with a canoeing or kayaking experience. Before setting off our instructors will provide the team with all the equipment and teach them the necessary skills required to power the kayak efficiently through the water. Once they are feeling confident in their abilities, extra challenges can be set using exhilarating confidence games such as raft or ball games, and for those who are feeling extra adventurous, capsizing!
Raft Building Challenge

Raft Building Challenge

Your team are marooned on a desert island with not enough food or water to sustain life. If they are to survive they must escape the island in search of help or a more inhabitable island by building a raft. After a safety briefing and some tips of raft building designs and knots, your team will be left to create their own raft. Will they sink or swim? For this task, teamwork and cooperation are essential as everybody must be building with the same techniques and the same aim in mind, failing this there may end up being a few very wet team members!
High Ropes

High Ropes

Make like Tarzan flying through the forest with a High Ropes adventure packed with adrenaline filled activities that are great fun for all the team. They will zoom through the air with the greatest of ease on our excellent Zip Wire, test their balance on the Log Walk, or stack their way to the top of our Crate Challenge. Some aspects of the challenge will be undertaken individually and others as a team to develop both independent thinking and cooperation, but all the while individuals will be helped along by teammates with words of advice and encouragement. The challenges are all based high up in the air, but thankfully everybody will be safe in the hands of our experienced instructors.

How will an adventure event help my employees in the long run?

While not all of these adventure activities directly require them to work in a team to complete challenges, they will soon come to realise that they will all individually get more out of the event by working together and cheering each other along to build confidence and self-belief. With the physical and mental challenges faced, delegates will not only discover personality traits and strengths and weaknesses of their colleagues but may even discover things they didn’t know about themselves!

How does an adventure day differ to a traditional team-building event?

Unlike many team events, an adventure day is non-competitive: while competition may naturally be developed between individuals this isn’t the primary aim of the event, this being to encourage and boost confidence of fellow team members while building self esteem and giving a great sense of achievement. In this sense, all who participate can succeed, whether it’s attaining a personal goal or completing a task with the help of team mates. Individuals may even feel more enthused before the event than with a conventional team-building event as they will anticipate having the opportunity to sample activities they have previous not tried and may previously have wanted to experience.

What is the Ultimate Aim of an Adventure Day?

By the end of the event all delegates should feel enthused and inspired to set themselves targets and attain the goals have previously established, while feeling more familiar and working better with their colleagues following the physical and mental challenges they will have faced together.
