"The Hatt Ltd."
Hatt Adventures, Hatt Events, Hatt Safety and Hatt Medics are all trading names of The Hatt Ltd.

"The Course"
Any activity that is run by The Hatt Ltd. and to which these Booking Terms and Conditions apply.

"The Instructor"
Any person who is authorised by The Hatt Ltd. to lead The Course.

"The Participant"
Any person who is authorised to take part on The Course.

"The Agent"
Any entity that is authorised to sell vouchers or make bookings on The Hatt Ltd. Courses.

Booking by Phone or Email
If The Course is booked by phone or e-mail, a place will be reserved for The Participant until the payment / voucher is received, however if the payment / voucher is not received by The Hatt Ltd. within 7 days from the day that a place was reserved, The Hatt Ltd. reserves the right to offer the place to another person.

Booking via the Website
Places booked via the website using a Credit Card or Debit Card will be subject to a confirmation email.

Agent Bookings
All Agent bookings are subject to theses 'Terms and Conditions'.

Fees
To book a place on a Course full payment must be made at the time of booking.

Course Information
Details of The Course including the program outline, kit requirements and start/finish times are supplied to The Participant after booking and prior to attending The Course.

Hatt Adventures / Events Gift Vouchers
Non-Specific Vouchers - Can be redeemed against any activity offered by The Hatt Ltd. to the value of the voucher. If The Participant wishes to redeem The Voucher against a higher priced course then the balance must be paid at the time of booking. If The Participant redeems The Voucher against a lower priced course then no refund will be given. Once The Voucher has been redeemed, all cancellations are subject to the 'Cancellations by The Participant' section.

Specific Vouchers 'Can only be redeemed against the activity stated on the voucher. Once The Voucher has been redeemed, all cancellations are subject to the 'Cancellations by The Participant' section.

We are able to refund gift voucher within 7 days of purchase, however we do have to charge a £10 administration fee. There are no refunds on a gift vouchers after this 7 day period.

The Participant must redeem and attend their course before the expiry date. Vouchers can be extended past the 12 months period for a further 6 months from date of expiry. The fees for this are £10 for vouchers under £100 and £20 for vouchers under £200. Vouchers can only be extended once.

Agent Vouchers
Vouchers can only be redeemed against the activity stated on The Voucher. Once The Voucher has been redeemed, all cancellations are subject to the 'Cancellations by The Participant' section.  If you have booked onto a course The Voucher is not valid for you will be liable for the full cost of The Course.

Cancellations by The Participant
If The Participant cancels their place on The Course within 30 days prior to the first day of The Course, of The Course fees will be forfeit to The Hatt Ltd. unless The Participant finds another person to attend The Course in their place (The Substitute). In order to be booked onto The Course in place of The Participant, The Substitute must complete and sign a booking form and ensure that it is received by The Hatt Ltd. no later than 7 days prior to the commencement of The Course. If the Participant cancels their place on The Course outside of 30 days prior to the first day of The Course then 25% of The Course fees will be forfeit to The Hatt Ltd.

Cancellations by The Participant or The Agent with a Voucher
If The Participant or The Agent cancels their place on The Course within 30 days prior to the first day of The Course, of The Course fees will be forfeit to The Hatt Ltd. unless The Participant finds another person to attend The Course in their place (The Substitute). In order to be booked onto The Course in place of The Participant, The Substitute must complete and sign a booking form and ensure that it is received by The Hatt Ltd. no later than 7 days prior to the commencement of The Course. If the Participant or The Agent cancels their place on The Course outside of 30 days prior to the first day of The Course then they may re-book The Course provided The Course is attended within the valid to date stated on the voucher.

Cancellations by The Hatt Ltd.
The Hatt Ltd. reserves the right to cancel or alter The Course. If The Course is cancelled (through no fault of The Participant) an alternative date will be offered to The Participant or a full refund will be given. Please note that refunds are not available to Vouchers. If, through no fault of The Hatt Ltd. The Course cannot be pursued due to health and safety considerations and no alternative can be found, no refund will be given. No liability for consequential loss is accepted by The Hatt Ltd.

Insurance
The Participant is advised to insure themselves against cancellation, personal injury and loss or damage to belongings and equipment. All of The Courses that are dependent on the weather will only run if it is safe to do so. The Hatt Ltd. is insured with public liability cover for £5 million in respect of all of The Courses.

Property
The Participants are responsible for any equipment loaned to them for the duration of The Course and will be liable for any loss or damage to the equipment unless such loss or damage is caused through 'wear and tear.' The Hatt Ltd. cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or theft of The Participants belongings.

Photography & Video Recording
The Hatt Ltd. may take photos or video recordings of The Course for use in advertising and associated media. The Participant may at the time of The Course request not to have such recordings taken. The photos and video recordings remain the property of The Hatt Ltd. and reserve the right to use these images without giving notice to The Participant or paying any royalties. We will however endeavour to ensure that The Participant receives a digital copy of the images.

Accommodation & Catering
Where accommodation is needed on any of The Courses, The Participants shall pay for their own accommodation and catering unless pre-arranged or advertised. Where accommodation & catering are provided The Hatt Ltd. cannot be held responsible for the client while on these premises or for the catering.

Medical Conditions, Allergies or Disabilities
The Hatt Ltd. cannot accept any liability for any loss or injury caused by medical conditions that were not disclosed to The Hatt Ltd. on the booking or medical forms and to The Instructor prior to The Course commencing. Disclosure of a medical condition will not necessarily prevent The Participant from attending The Course.

Safety and Instruction
The Participant must be over 18 years of age or if under 18 years of age accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. For all water sports The Participant must be able to swim a minimum of 50m fully clothed.

“Rock climbing, abseiling, mountaineering, bushcraft, survival, kayaking, and surfing are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.”

The Hatt Ltd. will not be responsible for any loss or injury caused to The Participant during The Course if that loss or injury is caused by The Participant's own negligence.

Safety is of utmost importance; therefore The Participant must act on any requests that are made by The Instructor in the interests of health and safety. The Instructor will terminate The Course immediately for any Participant who refuses to act on their instructions.
