Learn Survival Skills for a Temperate Climate in Sussex

This course is designed to give you a firm grounding in survival skills in a temperate climate from which to build. Over the two days you will build a shelter which you will spend the night in, make fires to cook from and learn how to collect and purify water. We also look at emergency equipment, the difficulties of moving and transporting an injured person, basic navigation by night and day and identifying basic fungi, plant and trees and their uses.

This is a very practical and fairly intensive course and is designed to dispel any myths about survival and teach realistic and useful skills. You will be busy from the moment you arrive, we run this course in a lecture then practical style ensuring you get all the correct knowledge and skills you need before you head off into the woods to put them to the test.

The course is run in 400 acres of beautiful woodland in the Ashdown Forest in Sussex.

Thank you for running such a well-organized, fully active and fun weekend, I really enjoyed it. I would like to attend another one of your Courses in the future, for example, I might try your 4-Day Advanced Survival Course next time. Thanks once again for running such a good Survival Weekend – great fun & very informative!

I went on the Basic Survival Skills weekend and it was fantastic. The weekend was fairly evenly spilt between being taught the theory, in the style of mini-lectures while gathered around the camp fire with tea and biscuits, and carrying out the practical aspects of survival in the wild. It was an incredibely well-organised and taught weekend course, and and a great way to learn more about the woods and countryside around us, as well as how to cope if you get stranded in them. A fun and informative weekend, which I would recommend to anyone!

We still havent stopped talking about the survival basics course. I saw my friends who were on the course with me yesterday and we were laughing about it again, and Maddie got carried away in a camping shop the other day and we are now the proud owners of a first aid bag and survival kit!
Thanks for such a great weekend!

Just to say many thanks for the weekend course. It was really enjoyable and I learnt loads! I think you and all your staff- Gary, Tom and Will have an excellent manner with all your guests, just the right balance between being encouraging and supportive and yet pushing us on to achieve well, survival!
It was a really unique experience for me, one which I will value highly, if only to appreciate the comfort of a real bed! But it has given me an appetite for more such courses, there's nothing quite like waking up in the middle of forest in a shelter you've built yourself, quite wonderful really.

Absolutely brilliant, really enjoyed the survival basics course. I learnt a lot of new things, and what I already knew was reinforced. Tom and Chris were very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. Even though I was tired and very hungry, I could have stayed longer, as I really enjoyed it. So much so that I'll probably be doing the 5 day course.
I will be trying some of the fire lighting techniques myself, and also identifying the trees and plants in woodlands near me. I could not stop talking about this course at work today, and I'd like to get more involved in survival.
