Mountain Safety Course

Learn the Necessary Skills for Staying Safe in the Mountains
Our mountain safety course is designed for those heading into the hills or mountains who enjoy walking, climbing and other outdoor adventures and therefore are likely to encounter hazardous situations or be in remote locations at some point. The course is run in Snowdonia National Park in North Wales which gives us a number of great venues in which to practice the mountain safety skills learnt during the course.
The course involves theory and practical sessions in a number of subjects including scrambling, safety rope work, emergency abseils, protecting an ascent, lowering and carrying an injured person, safety and survival equipment, mountain weather forecasting and hypothermia lectures and river crossing techniques. These are all essential skills if you are ever likely to be in a location far away from external help or contact and can save lives in emergency situations.
This course covers a range of invaluable mountain safety skills for all who enjoy walking or trekking and those travelling on expeditions overseas and is an excellent course to take following a Navigation Skills course or a Mountain Training Day - a situation where you have recently gotten to grips with outdoor navigation and are likely to be wanting to test out these skills for real in the mountains without a guide.
