River Medway - Yalding to East Peckham (Oak Weir)
The River Medway offers a fantastic opportunity to explore with numerous tributaries to take you off into the tranquil woodland surroundings, orchards, fields and historic villages. The area is known as the ‘Garden of England’ and it’s easy to see why...passing through overhanging willow trees and investigating hidden pools, you’ll feel as though you could be in the middle of a jungle as opposed to the middle of Kent! Remember to keep an eye out of Kingfishers as you paddle down the river, sightings are common around the area and you may even spot a Heron or maybe a Water Vole. Take your time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings before finally ending up in East Peckham, where apparently the first speeding summons in Britain was issued, in 1896, Mr Arnold being fined one shilling for doing 8 mph!
Whether you have never paddled before or you’re a regular paddler, our highly qualified instructors will ensure that everybody has a good time by adapting the trip to suit your needs and abilities.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this trip, but you must be able to swim 50m and a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Suitable clothing for the time of year should be worn. A complete change of clothes with appropriate footwear is also needed. We will provide you with a kit list upon booking.Must be able to swim 50m fully clothed (2 lengths of a standard pool).
