Wilderness First Aid- ECP Venturer Medicine

ECP Venturer Medicine First Aid Course
This 2-day intermediate course is designed for group leaders working in the United Kingdom’s remote areas. It trains students in first aid skills useful for those running outdoor activity groups, camps or those working in remote locations.
Working in remote locations can be particularly hazardous, not necessarily due to nature of the environment itself but due to the isolated situation you may be in should anything go wrong. For this reason it is essential that you are aware of the possible dangers of the environment and how to deal with them should problems arise.
This course equips you to read the environment and make use of what is around you plus knowledge of what to pack in your first aid kit and equipment that may be useful to have to help avoid possible dangers.
The course contains a balance of classroom based lessons and outdoor practical scenarios with real hands on learning so that students are confident in both the background theory and the ability to put these skill into real life events. Our team of professionally trained outdoors instructors combine vast experience in teaching first aid courses and are familiar with wilderness and outdoor emergencies working in this field themselves.
The two day intermediate Wilderness First Aid course exceeds the recommendations for the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work includes a personal first aid manual, face shield, dressing, triangular bandage to take away and certificate which is valid for 3 years.
If you are a group leader planning on working in remote areas overseas, the ECP Exploration Medicine course may be more suitable.
If you have already completed this course and want to further your first aid knowledge and skills, the next step is the ECP Advanced Explorer Medicine first aid.

The course was really good- Lucy was excellent. We were so impressed with the amount of knowledge and experience she has. And she was really good at keeping the course relevant to what we were doing. All in all, a great weekend.
Thanks very much!

This first aid training was completely what our team needed for our expedition. Great to get first aid ideas which make you think outside the box and we are all feeling much more confident regarding our health and safety and for those we will be working with. We are all now feeling confident about field first aid and not just how to tie a bandage. Lucy was really good and explained things very well.
