Our canoeing and kayaking experiences are suitable for a range of abilities from complete beginners to competent paddlers. Hatt Adventures offer courses which cover the basics skills and knowledge you'll need to get out on the water and have a go at kayaking or canoeing, these experiences are great if you want to get a taste of the sport and fancy trying something new. BCU 1 and 2 star awards offer the next step up from the kayaking or canoeing experience, during the course you will cover and master basic skills to progress up the BCU certificates.
For more of a group day out Hatt Adventures offer a good range of kayaking river trips that run throughout Sussex and Kent including the River Arun, Rive Ouse, River Cuckmere and the River Medway. These trips are a great idea for stag and hen parties or even just groups of mates looking for a day outdoors with a bit of a difference.

The British Canoe Union's 1 star award is designed to be the first step in becoming a paddler, learning the paddle stokes needed to control the kayak through the water, the safety aspects of kayaking with others including capsize procedures, and the theory behind the sport.
The British Canoe Union's 2 star award is designed as an improvement award helping paddlers to develop the fundamental paddlesport skills on flat water. Skills will be gained and assessed in both canoes and kayaks to develop water proficiency and experience.
This course is designed for a competent flat water paddler and is the ideal preparation and training for the BCU 3 Star Surf Kayak Assessment, or just for the fun and the surfing skills for those who want to progress their kayaking skills and have a new adventure!
The 3 star surf is a one day assessment but we have converted it into a 2 day course, with the first day as a warm up and skills refresher and the second day as the assessment to give you practise and allow you to perform at your best.
This course is aimed at someone with good flat water skills who wants to progress onto white water rivers with a view to taking a 3 star assessment or just to have fun and develop their kayaking skills in a new and exciting environment! The thrill of kayaking white water is unlike anything else and is sure to leave you wanting more!
