3 Star Surf Training

This course is designed for a competent flat water paddler who wants to learn how to surf, with a view to taking the 3 star assessment or just for the fun and the surfing skills. Learn how to predict surf, choose the right spot to take off and carve along the wave. Courses are run in either Devon or Cornwall and we will use the best beach's for the conditions on the day.

BCU 3 star surf syllabus if you do not already have it you will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

During the training course we will cover:

Beach safety
Surf theory
Predicting surf
Equipment selection
Kayaking techniques
Rescue techniques
Access and egress

Cost: £165
Clients per group: 2-6
Equipment Supplied: Kayaks and equipment can be borrowed with prior arrangement.
Equipment Needed: Your normal paddling equipment (kayak, paddles, wetsuits, dry suits, etc.) and suitable clothing for the time of year should be worn. We will provide you with a kit list.
Catering: Please bring a packed Lunch (and plenty of water), as there are normally no shops near the venue.
Accommodation: This course includes 2 nights stay in a self catering bunkhouse.
Transport: Lift sharing can be arranged, or we will meet at the venue.
