BCU - 3 Star Surf Kayak - Training

Prepare for the 3 Star Surf Kayak Award with this Training Course
This course is designed for a competent flat water paddler who wants to learn how to surf, with a view to taking the BCU 3 Star Surf Kayak Assessment or just for the fun and the surfing skills. Our experienced instructors will teach you how to predict surf, choose the right spot to take off and carve along the wave, as well as equipment and location selection. Courses are run in either Devon or Cornwall and we will use the best beaches for the conditions on the day.
This course is a great way to develop your kayaking skills and allow you to explore a different aspect of the sport. This is an ideal progression for those who have previously taken the BCU 2 Star Award and wish to take the BCU 3 Star Surf Kayak assessment, or those with extensive flat water kayaking experience who want to progress their skills and bring a different, exciting element to the sport in this unique environment. Surfing the waves is a completely different experience to kayaking inland on flat water or even white water so brave the waves, prepare to get wet and experience kayaking as never before- you may never look back!
If you have already tried surf kayaking and feel competent enough you can opt to go straight for the BCU 3 Star Surf Kayak assessment, however it recommended that you undergo this training course first.
If you are an experienced kayaker but fancy a different kind of kayaking adventure, why not try White Water Kayaking?
