3 Peaks Challenge (24hr)

The UK 3 Peaks 24hr Challenge
The UK Three Peaks Challenge (or National Three Peaks Challenge as it is also known) is one of the most well known and sought after walking challenges in the UK. The aim is to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland - Ben Nevis (1,343m), England – Scafell Pike (978m) and Wales – Mount Snowdon (1,085m) in under 24 hours.
This is a fantastic opportunity to test your limits and set yourself a real challenge, whether you're a avid hillwalker or just fancy actively challenging yourself with this highly-regarded walk. If you're feeling extra ambitious and want to hit that extra goal you could even get your friends to sponsor you to make this a charity event!
This is a challenge not to be underestimated, as throughout the 24 hours you will be ascending and descending approximately 3000 meters and a large part of this will be in darkness and over rough terrain. A good level of fitness and determination is essential as at times you will feel physically and mentally tired, however the team spirit created along the way should get you there, plus the sense of achievement and satisfaction from completing the challenge cannot be described and makes it all worthwhile!
All those who complete the challenge within the 24 hours will receive a certificate and a FREE t-shirt!
Please note: the Three Peaks Challenge is not a single large event that runs once a year with everyone taking part on the same weekend, rather it runs whenever organisations or individuals decide to undertake the challenge. If you wish to take the challenge please contact us to find out our upcoming dates and make a booking. Alternatively, if you have a group of 6 or more, you can choose your own dates and we will organise the challenge for you on your selected date.
If you would love to attempt this challenge but are not confident of your fitness or have limited mountain walking experience why not attend one of our Mountain Training Days to test your fitness levels and break you in gently?
For an even greater challenge why not have a go at the Welsh 3000s Challenge?

Training for the 3 Peaks Challenge
We provide a full training pack ensuring that you are well prepared for your challenge which includes a fitness training program put together by fitness training instructors and endurance specialist, plus information on walking, boots, clothing, equipment and where to buy from. Individuals and Small Groups
Open to individual challengers and small groups we run open challenges of selected dates from March to October.
Challenge Teams
Depending on the size of the event we will divide you into groups of 10 for the duration of the three peaks challenge. You will be able to choose your group (depending on your fitness level and mountain walking experience) on the first evening but once in a group you will not be able to change as the minibuses won’t always be together. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact us.
Fund Raising for Charity
If you are trying to raise money for a charity then we are more than happy to have you on the challenge, however you will still need to pay the event fee in the normal way. If you are looking to organise a charity three peaks with a large group then please contact us for more information and to find out about our discounted charity rates.
Corporate Team Events
As well as our open 3 peak challenges we also run bespoke events for corporate teams. Please contact us for more information and to find out about our group discount rates.
Conservation and 3 Peaks
Every year thousands of people attempt the three peaks challenge either in small unsupported groups or in large organised groups raising money for charity. At Hatt Adventures we are very aware of the environmental impact this is having (and the bad press that the three peaks has received within the walking and climbing community) which is why we run our three peak challenges in a responsible way.
We plan our timings to ensure that we are not disturbing the local residents at unsocial hours of the night and we ensure that all our clients are fully briefed on the environmental impact the events can have on the mountains and how to minimise them. We also only run small events with a maximum of 40 challengers, thus reducing our impact on the mountain trails.
Day 1
On Friday we will travel up from Brighton to Fort William collecting challengers as we go. This will take most of the day but it's a great chance to get to know the people you'll be completing the challenge with. In the evening we'll enjoy a hot meal before the mountain safety briefing, and then off to bed early for a good nights rest!
Day 2
The day starts early and after breakfast we will travel by minibus to the base of Ben Nevis, the largest of the three mountains. The 3 Peaks begin! By the early evening you can expect to be ascending Scafell Pike, and then on to Mount Snowdon!
Day 3
You will start Mount Snowdon in the early hours of the morning and should get a fantastic view over the Snowdon Horseshoe as the sun comes up, and then be down in time for breakfast! The challenge is completed when the whole team is safely back down from the mountain!
March to October, please see the calendar for the next available dates.
